Isabella Commodore North (CarbonX Frame)

Price£2,822.00

Isabella

Commodore is spacious, light and airy. The warm, subdued colours in either DAWN or NORTH design, breathable Isacryl material, large windows, a choice from 3 frames,  and numerous opening and ventilation options make it an oasis of comfort with a depth of 3 metres, where there is every opportunity for the family to find the space for play and relaxation.

Isabella Commodore North with CarbonX Frame

Commodore is a fusion of classic Isabella design and contemporary materials. Its depth of 3 metres and the choice of three types of frames are a major advantage, especially for those who alternate between permanent pitching and touring and enjoy having plenty of space in the awning.

Large panoramic windows make Commodore a pleasant place to be, with a unique inflow of light. For a pleasant indoor climate, the Commodore model has mosquito nets with a foil cover in both sides, as well as an integrated top ventilation panel in the middle of the front. On hot days and balmy evenings, the nets keep out annoying insects, at the same time allowing the air in the awning to circulate. For extra ventilation, you have the option of purchasing a front net panel, read more at the bottom under 'Optional Extras'.

To further improve the indoor climate, Commodore is made with Isabella's well known Isacryl 295g/m², their optimal, durable, breathable, fibre-dyed acrylic material. Isacryl has the highest achievable fade-resistance thanks to the pigmentation method. The density of the weave plus the impregnation all the way through prevents water ingress. Nevertheless, Isacryl is a breathable material, which facilitates the best possible indoor climate in the awning.

The roof, on the other hand, is made of IsaRoof 285 g/m² - a UV acrylate coated polyester, with an added top coat in 2 layers. This perfect roof material will protect you from the sun, so you can find shelter in your Commodore.

Commodore can come in two styles, both being equally functional, only differing in your preference in design.

Commodore Dawn is part of the Dawn style concept, i.e. a mild and subdued tone-on-tone colour scheme inspired by the misty morning landscape. It comes in the following beautifully delicate colourway: Steel Flax colourway of Commodore Dawn

Commodore dawn - DAWN collection style

Commodore North, on the other hand, is part of the North colour concept, i.e. subdued colours with clear references to Nordic nature. It comes in the following soothing colourway: Tweed Grey colourway of Commodore North

Commodore North - North Collection style

Isabella's doctrine is 'Feel Free' and indeed, you are free to choose several optional items which will flexibly change up the design and use of your Commodore. You can further extend the already generous space of Commodore with Annexe NorthGrey or Sand 220 either by clicking on the hyperlinks or via the 'Buy Together' tab above. On hot summer days, you may also need extra shelter just outside of your awning, which is why we recommend purchasing a Door Canopy for your awning. For those warm stuffy days when all you want to do is hide in a shaded corner and relax, Cosy Corner is for you; it attaches to either side of Commodore very easily and will allow you to have your own 'me' space. If you want to go all-in with a sheltered area for your whole familyEclipse Sun Canopy will be for you; it can be attached easily to either the front of the awning or straight onto the caravan (if you can't be bothered to erect an awning). In the off-seasons, on the other hand, you may want extra peace of mind with Storm Securing Set. For both winter and summer, the Inner Roof which can be selected in the options above is an absolute must; it will minimise condensation and keep good temperature homeostasis in your Commodore. You can read about the inner roof at the bottom of the page.

Commodore comes as standard with:

  • Cube Creme (North) or Collage Sand (Dawn) Curtains
  • Veranda pole
  • Draught skirt
  • Wheel arch cover
  • FixOn
  • Typhoon storm sashes awning bag
  • Pole and peg bag including peg remover

Now you know that Commodore - either Dawn or North - will be the best choice for your caravanning needs, giving you all the best perks you require to fully enjoy nature and comfort on your caravanning holidays. All you have left now is to decide which frame will suit your needs best. You have a choice between Zinox, Zinox MegaFrame and CarbonX.

The Zinox Steel frame is hot galvanised both inside and out to extend its life and to meet all load-bearing requirements. The steel frame is made of ISO-certified steel. The strength of the Zinox steel frame makes it particularly suitable for pitching your caravan permanently. Caravanning in the off-peak seasons demands great structural stability due to weather conditions such as strong winds and snow. This fabulous frame is supplied with T-Rex locking mechanism. It locks the poles in place and keeps them tensioned in all weather conditions with one press of the handgrip and a discreet "click".

Zinox MegaFrame supplies you with the highest possible strength, stability and durability in the most inclement weathers. It is a tubular steel frame (material thickness: 32mm/1.2mm so much wider than the standard Zinox) with welded corners and MegaFix on the poles. MegaFrame is designed for year-round use with a full awning which can remain standing all year and can withstand most powerful storms, snowfall and torrential rain. The Zinox MegaFrame is supplied with two extra rafter poles, as well as one Hercules Triple. This is a great deal from Isabella, as Hercules Triple is a brilliant product, improved even further for the new line. This device provides optimal tightening of the awning to ensure that the canvas is correctly tensioned. It counteracts wind noise and provides much greater stability of the whole awning! This in turn, not only makes your holidays even more enjoyable but it also extends the life of the awning as the load is evenly spread over all its parts.  The handle and swingarm are cast in aluminium, so Hercules Triple weighs just 250 g. This is definitely the frame to choose if you want to challenge your awning to the most adverse weather conditions.

Both Zinox and Zinox MegaFrame are made up of 4 layers:

Lastly, CarbonX frame is a carbon-fibre reinforced fibreglass frame which is suitable for both permanent and touring caravanning, giving you the best of both worlds. Carbon Fibres are combined with glass fibres in varying amounts, according to pole diameters to offer maximum strength. The frame is light and fully corrosion resistant. All CarbonX frames are supplied with IsaFix locking mechanism. With IsaFix in place, keeping the frame in position is easy. With one press of the handgrip, a discreet "click" tells you IsaFix is locked in position. CarbonX frame is made up of 6 layers:

Optional Extras:

Front Mesh Panel

Extra ventilation with net front.

This brilliant product has been designed to give you maximum flexibility as well as insulation. The Net Front gives you the option of unzipping the entire front panel of the awning and replacing it with a net front. This is especially beneficial in a hot climate, where good ventilation is a must. The net front can be reversed and thus used in both the right and left sides. only available for frame sizes G14-G20.

By the way, you can also purchase a Net Side for your Commodore by clicking here or in the 'Buy Together' tab above. It is just as useful as the Net Front, providing you with ventilation without the annoyance of bugs, but on the side rather than on the front! (Unlike the Front Mesh Panel, the Side Net can fit all the different sizes of the Commodore!)

Inner Roof

Recommended for camping in the off season.

If you use your awning in winter, condensation is bound to happen on the roof which is where warm air meets cold air outside of the awning. However, you can minimise this natural process within your awning with Isabella’s Inner Roof – a roof liner which is easy to install and will put the roof poles out of sight for a nicer look in your living space. It will absorb any condensation that forms and promote good thermal regulation within your awning. Isabella thought of everything, so there is a zip in the Inner Roof where you can have the lamp cables pulled out, allowing you to have nice warm light in your awning.

Take a look for yourself how easy it is to install with Isabella’s innovative Termo-Fix fittings:

Another accessory which will keep good temperature homeostasis in your Commodore is a Partition Wall, which you can purchase by clicking here or in the 'Buy Together' tab above. It divides the awning into 2 rooms (which allows family members to have a 'me' time), and smaller areas show fewer fluctuations in temperature i.e. keep warm in winter and keep cool in summer. The wall features a door and a window, to allow light into both rooms and to allow easy access between the two. A brilliant invention.
