FIND THE RIGHT LAYOUT

Choose Your Motorhome Around the Way You Travel

Motorhome layouts can make an enormous difference to everyday touring. Think beyond the number of berths and consider how the vehicle will work when you're driving, relaxing, cooking and sleeping.

FIXED BED Permanent sleeping space without making a bed every night.
ISLAND BED Popular with couples who value access from both sides.
TWIN BEDS Separate permanent beds with convenient individual access.
DROP-DOWN BED Extra sleeping capacity while preserving daytime living space.
HOW WILL YOU USE IT?

Couples, Families & Longer Adventures

COUPLES Prioritise bed comfort, usable lounge space and the dimensions you are comfortable driving.
FAMILIES Check travelling seats as well as sleeping berths, storage and how the living area works with everyone inside.
LONGER TOURS Think carefully about storage, payload, bed comfort and living space when planning extended trips.
WHAT WILL YOU TAKE?

Storage & Garage Space Matter

If you travel with outdoor furniture, bikes, sports equipment or lots of touring gear, storage should be one of the first things you inspect.

Large rear garages can be extremely useful, but remember that carrying capacity is governed by the vehicle's available payload — not simply by whether there is physical room to fit something inside.

SIZE MATTERS ON THE ROAD TOO

Think About Driving as Well as Living

A larger motorhome can provide more living space, but you also need to be comfortable driving, parking and manoeuvring it. Consider overall length, width and height as carefully as the interior layout.

Vehicle weight can also affect driving licence requirements, so always check the individual motorhome's plated weight and your licence entitlement.

MORE CHOICE

New or Used Motorhome?

Buying new gives you access to the latest models and specifications, while buying used can open up a wider selection of manufacturers, layouts and price points. The right choice depends on your budget, touring plans and the type of motorhome you want.

BEFORE YOU CHOOSE

Look Beyond the Berth Number

A motorhome that sleeps four people does not necessarily have four travelling seats, and two vehicles with the same berth count can offer completely different touring experiences. Compare the details that matter to the way you intend to travel.

TRAVEL SEATS Check how many belted travelling seats the vehicle provides.
PAYLOAD Make sure you have sufficient capacity for people and equipment.
LENGTH Consider driving, parking, storage and campsite pitch requirements.
LAYOUT Choose around how you sleep, cook and relax while away.
WHICH TYPE OF TOURING VEHICLE?

Motorhome or Campervan?

MOTORHOME Choose a motorhome when interior living space, larger washrooms, permanent beds and generous storage are high on your priority list.
CAMPERVAN Consider a campervan if compact dimensions and everyday manoeuvrability matter more than maximum interior space. EXPLORE CAMPERVANS →
