Campervans
A different way to travel
A campervan puts the journey and the destination together in one versatile vehicle.
Pack your belongings, choose where you want to go and take your accommodation with you. There is no caravan to tow and no hotel waiting at the end of the journey.
Van-based dimensions can make campervans particularly appealing to customers who want to move regularly, explore smaller roads and enjoy a vehicle that feels more manageable than many larger coachbuilt motorhomes.
Inside, clever design can provide sleeping accommodation, cooking facilities, storage, living space and — depending on the model — an integrated washroom or additional pop-top sleeping area.
Why choose a campervan?
Campervans sit in an interesting space between everyday van-based travel and fully self-contained touring accommodation.
Van-based dimensions can make a campervan easier to manoeuvre and explore with than a larger motorhome.
Use it for spontaneous weekends, touring holidays and the kind of trips where plans change along the way.
Modern layouts can incorporate beds, kitchens, storage and other touring facilities into a compact space.
Load up, turn the key and go whenever a free weekend or promising weather forecast appears.
Five brands. Five different approaches to campervan touring.
Explore campervans from Bailey, Etrusco, ACE, ERIBA and Coachman. From compact panel-van conversions and fixed-bed tourers to pop-top models and flexible rear lounges, there is much more difference between campervans than their exterior dimensions might suggest.
Explore our new campervan ranges
United British Caravans offers new campervans from Bailey, Etrusco, ACE, ERIBA and Coachman. Each manufacturer approaches van-based touring differently, giving you a broad choice of layouts, sleeping arrangements and interior styles.
Bailey Endeavour & Endurance
Bailey brings its long-established leisure-vehicle experience into the campervan market with the Endeavour and Endurance ranges.
Different layouts give customers a choice of sleeping, living and touring arrangements while retaining the compact appeal of a van-based leisure vehicle.
VIEW BAILEY CAMPERVANSEuropean campervan style
Etrusco offers a broad selection of campervan layouts for customers looking for contemporary European design and practical van-based touring.
The range includes different vehicle lengths and sleeping arrangements, making it worth comparing individual models rather than choosing solely on exterior size.
VIEW ETRUSCO CAMPERVANSDiscover the ACE campervan range
ACE adds another distinctive choice to the campervan line-up at United British Caravans, with a range of layouts designed around compact touring and practical use of interior space.
Compare the different models to find the combination of beds, living space, storage and touring facilities that works best for your plans.
VIEW ACE CAMPERVANSA different approach to campervan living
The ERIBA Car range brings distinctive design and unusual layout flexibility to the campervan market.
Choose the Car 600 with its dedicated rear sleeping arrangement or the Car 602 with its flexible rear lounge and double-or-twin sleeping options.
Pop-top versions add another sleeping area above, creating even more ways to use the vehicle once you reach your destination.
VIEW ERIBA CAMPERVANSMeet the Coachman Veloce
The Coachman Veloce brings one of the UK leisure industry's best-known caravan names into the campervan market.
It provides another choice for customers who want van-based touring while retaining the comfort-led approach associated with Coachman.
VIEW COACHMAN CAMPERVANSDon't choose the badge first — choose how you want to travel
Start with the layout, number of belted travelling seats, sleeping arrangement and facilities you need. Then compare the Bailey, Etrusco, ACE, ERIBA and Coachman models that meet those requirements. The best campervan is the one that works around your journeys rather than simply the manufacturer name on the front.
The layout can matter more than the badge
Two campervans of similar exterior size can feel completely different inside. The position of the beds, lounge, kitchen, washroom and storage determines how the vehicle works once you've parked up for the day.
Your bed is ready whenever you are
A fixed rear-bed campervan dedicates part of the vehicle permanently to sleeping accommodation. For many customers, the convenience is difficult to beat.
There is no need to convert the main lounge every evening or rebuild it again in the morning — simply head to bed when you're ready.
Fixed transverse beds can also allow useful storage to be incorporated underneath the sleeping area, making good use of the rear of the vehicle.
Individual sleeping space and easy access
Twin single-bed layouts can be particularly appealing to customers who want individual sleeping areas and straightforward access during the night.
Depending on the particular campervan, the arrangement may also make useful storage possible beneath the beds.
If fixed singles are high on your priority list, compare the available Etrusco, ACE and other suitable models in person to see how the bedroom works within the overall vehicle.
Use the rear as living space by day
A rear-lounge layout takes a very different approach from a campervan with a permanently fixed bed.
Instead of dedicating the rear permanently to sleeping, you can enjoy it as somewhere to sit, relax and take in the view during the day.
The ERIBA Car 602 is a particularly good example: its rear lounge can be transformed for sleeping, including the flexibility of a double or two single beds below.
Rear lounge by day. Bedroom by night.
Enjoy the rear of the campervan as part of your main living environment.
Transform the same area into sleeping accommodation when the day is over.
Another sleeping area above
A pop-top can add another sleeping area without permanently taking space away from the main campervan interior below.
On suitable models, raising the roof creates additional berths above the main habitation space. That can make a compact campervan considerably more flexible once you arrive at your destination.
It can also create an interesting option for couples: sleep upstairs and leave the lounge below permanently set up rather than converting it every night.
Berths and belted travelling seats are not the same thing
When comparing campervans, don't assume that a four-berth campervan can carry four people while travelling. The number of sleeping berths and the number of approved belted travelling seats can be different.
Check both figures for the specific model you're considering. For example, some campervans can provide additional sleeping accommodation for guests at your destination without providing additional passenger travel seats for them on the road.
Start with how you want to sleep and live
Best if you value having a permanent bed ready whenever you need it.
Ideal if individual sleeping areas and easy access are important to you.
Choose this if you value additional living space during the day.
Useful when you want additional sleeping flexibility without a larger vehicle.
New & used campervans

Our used campervan stock changes regularly and can include vehicles from a much wider selection of manufacturers, layouts and price points.

Which type of leisure vehicle suits you?
Campervans and motorhomes can both provide self-contained touring accommodation, but their size and approach to interior space can make the experience quite different.
A van-based campervan can appeal if you value more compact exterior dimensions, manoeuvrability and the ability to move regularly while touring.
Clever layouts make intensive use of the available interior space for sleeping, cooking, storage and living facilities.
A coachbuilt motorhome can provide additional interior width and living space, making it attractive for customers who prioritise room once they're on site.
The trade-off is usually a larger vehicle, so think about where you intend to travel and how often you'll be moving between destinations.
Five things to check when choosing a campervan
The right campervan isn't necessarily the largest, the newest or the one with the longest equipment list. It is the vehicle that best matches how you intend to travel and use it.
Check how many people can legally travel in approved seats with seatbelts.
Check the sleeping capacity separately — it may not match the number of travelling seats.
Decide whether you prefer fixed beds, singles, a convertible lounge or pop-top accommodation.
Consider kitchen equipment, washroom facilities, heating and the equipment important to your trips.
Think about what you'll carry and check the relevant vehicle weight and payload information.
A floorplan only tells you part of the story
Measurements and floorplans are useful, but it can be difficult to judge how a campervan actually feels until you step inside.
Sit in the lounge, stand at the kitchen, try the bedroom access and consider where your belongings would go. Think about how two people would move around the vehicle at the same time.
Comparing different campervans in person can quickly show you which layouts work for you — and which ones don't.
